What the extended usage license means

A normal real estate photo license is written for a listing sale. Short-term-rental platforms are different: the images appear on Airbnb, VRBO, your own booking site and often a management company’s pages. Our standalone Airbnb and VRBO photography includes an extended usage license for short-term-rental platforms, so you do not have to ask permission each time you update a listing. If you need to use photos in some other way, ask before you book.

Which add-ons are worth it for a rental

Not every rental needs everything. A rough guide based on what we see guests react to:

  • Drone photos ($125): Worth it for any property where location is a selling point: waterfront, near the beach, a large lot or a pool. Read more in our drone photography guide.

  • Real twilight ($200): Worth it when the house has pool lights, a fire feature or a covered outdoor space that looks best after sunset. Skip if the exterior is plain and the draw is inside.

  • 2D floor plan ($75): Cheap and useful for multi-bedroom homes, because guests can see how sleeping spaces relate to each other.

  • Extra photos: Good for houses with many bedrooms, bunk rooms or distinct outdoor spaces.

  • Social media reel ($175): Useful if you market on social media; less important for a listing that already has strong photos.

  • 3D tour: Helpful for larger homes and management companies who want a link to share, but not a first purchase for most hosts. See Matterport vs. Zillow 3D.

  • Virtual staging: Only if a room is empty or half-furnished.

Travel fees: the formula

The first 30 miles are free. After that it is $15 for every 10 miles, rounded down to the nearest 10, calculated from South Tampa using round-trip distance. We do not quote exact fees for specific towns here, because the number depends on your address. The fee is calculated using the pricing page formula and confirmed when you book.

Ways to keep the cost sensible

Book the photos once and use them across every platform your license covers. Prepare the property well so we spend time shooting instead of tidying: the prep checklist helps. If you have several properties, tell us up front. And if we did a good job, a Google or Yelp review helps other hosts find us.

The pricing page lists everything, and the Airbnb and VRBO photography page explains the service. If you want to compare with sale-listing packages, see real estate photography costs in Tampa.
