Holmes Beach has a canal side and a beach side
Holmes Beach sits in the middle of Anna Maria Island, between the city of Anna Maria to the north and Bradenton Beach to the south. Gulf Drive runs down the Gulf side, and Marina Drive follows the bay side. That layout matters for photography more than the street names do.
Homes on the bay side often back onto canals or open water, with a dock, a boat lift or a small deck as the main outdoor feature. Homes closer to the Gulf trade the dock for a short walk to the sand. A host with a canal house needs the water shot to look inviting and the dock to look safe. A host two blocks from the beach needs the walk to feel short, and we will show the access path for that reason.
Light on a west-facing island
The Gulf is to the west, so the beach side gets its best color at sunset and the bay side tends to catch the morning. We plan the order of the day around that. For a bayside canal home, we try to do the water-facing exterior and the lanai before the sun climbs. For a house on the Gulf side of Gulf Drive, afternoon is when the front of the building is lit, and a real twilight session ($200 for five photos) can pick up the glow the sky gives you for free.
If your calendar has a gap on only one half of the day, tell us. We can still make it work, and a virtual twilight image at $15 fills in where the real sky did not cooperate.
Duplexes, cottages and the two-unit problem
Holmes Beach has a lot of duplexes and small multi-unit properties, which many hosts rent as a pair or as separate listings. We treat each unit as its own gallery so a guest never sees a bed from the other side of the wall. Square footage is priced per unit, using the same pricing tiers. If you want a single sweep of both units with shared outdoor space, say so and we will group the exterior shots.
Older cottages are a different challenge. Low ceilings and small rooms mean we work from corners and doorways, and the first photo in the set is often a lanai or porch rather than a living room. Parking, gear and the staging we leave you with
Streets in Holmes Beach can be tight, and rental driveways fill quickly when guests arrive. If you can leave the driveway open for our car, that saves a long carry. The things we ask hosts to do before we arrive are short:
Set the beach gear (chairs, boogie boards, wagons) where a guest would find it, then we choose which pieces stay in frame.
Put out fresh towels and make beds fully, including pillows on the bunk beds.
Clear the counters, the fridge door and the bathroom shelves.
Open gates, garage side doors, and the lanai.
